Bridging HIV and SUD: Innovations in the Field and Syringe Services Programs (SSPs) in rural communities
This session is part of NAHEWD's national webinar series Bridging HIV and SUD: Innovations in the Field. The series will highlight various innovative models and approaches to treating substance use disorder (SUD) in people at risk for and living with HIV.

This presentation will review data and public health challenges in HIV/HCV prevention and SSP access in rural Massachusetts. It will also review models to bring services to most at-risk communities and what the future of providing these services looks like.

1. Provide an overview of existing data and public health challenges in HIV/HCV prevention and SSP access in rural Cape Cod.
2. Review of history of establishing SSPs in MA.
3. Review of innovative models for bringing services to most at risk communities in rural areas.
4. Explain the importance of integration of community organizations with HIV/HCV/SUD prevention and treatment services in rural communities.
