The role of overdose prevention centers in responding to the overdose and infectious disease crises in the United States
This session is part of NAHEWD's national webinar series Bridging HIV and SUD: Innovations in the Field. The series will highlight various innovative models and approaches to treating substance use disorder (SUD) in people at risk for and living with HIV.

In this webinar, Dr. Marshall will discuss how overdose prevention centers are an evidence-based strategy to prevent overdoses and reduce HIV/HCV transmission among people who use drugs.

1. Define overdose prevention centers and discuss their history in the US and globally.
2. Summarize research studying the effects of overdose prevention centers on people who use them and communities in which they are located.
3. Discuss their continued implementation in the US.
